Nice turn out, on a beautiful if humid summer night
downtown by at the river. My uneducated guess - 3-5k. Very supportive crowd.
Lot's of union T-shirts. Kohl, Feingold, and our mayor Tom Barrett were there.

About 20 Bushies w/1 loud high powered megaphone, chanting 4 more years,
irritated us until they cranked up the PA. This was effective - Kerry
had a great (but ear splitting) sound system. In the silent gaps the
Bushies were audible, so Teresa said "3 more months", we all chanted
this louder and louder and still louder, until Teresa said "peace!".

Kerry took our new fast car ferry across Lake Michigan to Milwaukee-
that ferry lands about 4 mi south of downtown in an area where you still
see herons and egrets. Then he continued by boat up the Milw river to
the rally.

After the speech we saw a house boat paneled with those obnoxious
super-sized Bush yard signs silently cruising up the river as the crowd
dispersed- just enough to rile us as we did the "riverwalk" back to our car.
